Just a few points on my personal teaching philosophy which are important things to consider when selecting a teacher.
1. To provide a relaxing environment to each student to foster a positive and fun learning experience.
2. Meet the student where they are at each lesson, because we all have bad days.
3. Offer a variety of teaching methods and styles to find a good match, because each student learns a little differently. Be flexible.
4. Provide lots of encouragement each step of the way in the music learning adventure.
Music is fun but for some practicing is not at the top of the list of fun things to do, especially for children who have lots of demands at school and extracurricular activities. If a week goes by and there wasn't time to practice the weeks lesson we improvise and work on something else.
I truly believe the gift of music lessons is the best thing a parent/ guardian can give their child or an if your an adult taking on the challenge of a new instrument, it is a great way to stimulate your mind and find something to add to life that is fun and relaxing.
